  • Weekend recap

    1.  Had a garage sale.  Sold a bunch of stuff.  Made $170 for our adoption costs.

    2.  Wrote various letters to various priests, bishops, Pope regarding USCCB supporting less than fully pro-life legislation (Stupak Amendment) which makes taxpayers pay for abortions in the instances of rape, incest, and to protect the life of the mother.

    3.  Picked out paint for the hallway, bedroom, bathroom.  Wife will paint this week.

The coolest thing so far is that a friend is a Col. in the AF.  He said the survival instructor at the base is looking for volunteers.  The exercise is to teach pilots how to evade capture in the event of their plane going down.  They need people to act as "aggressors" who will hunt down the "downed pilots" during the exercise.  What a blast!

  • Miracles

Great things have happened in our diocese in the last 24 hours.

    1)  The bishop responded to my follow-up email from my CCHD letter, and said he has read the letter and he'd like to meet in person to discuss it.

    2)  Our priest removed from the church website a USCCB video endorsing "universal health care" after I informed him about the dozen or so ways that universal health care violated Catholic teaching.

    3)  A parish priest in our diocese called to gather resources to help him celebrate the "Latin Mass" for midnight Mass on Christmas eve.  He said the parishoners have been requesting it.  That'll make the 2nd parish in the diocese to begin offering the Latin Mass.

  • Need prayers

A childhood friend committed suicide Wednesday.  Please pray for the repose of his soul.

(If any of you self-righteous fundamentalist judgmental scumbags post any comments about the state of his soul, you'll be blocked for life and reported for harassment.  So ask yourself if it's worth it.  Instead, use your time wisely and  go read John 6 all the way through.)

  • Learning to rest

Aside from the fact that I'm a "fidgeter" (one who fidgets), I also overwork myself.  I spend every waking moment working on something, reading, working in the garden.  I never take time to rest.

Friday was another "last straw" day.  I was weak and sick, not feeling well at all.  Saturday I played computer games for a good long time.  Sunday I watched a movie and did some reading.

Today I started my day with some calisthenics do get my blood pumping.  So far so good.

  • This adoption thing is frustrating.

A friend moved to India and took a packet of photos and a letter to deliver to the Missionaries of Charity (MOC).  Missionaries of Charity said they only adopt out to India and Europe, not the U.S., but that we could contact MOC in Haiti, which we did.  They said they don't adopt out to the U.S. either.

A friend sent us a link to Catholic Charities in Houston, but they don't serve out to our city.  Catholic Charities in New Orleans doesn't either.  Alexandria CC doesn't seem to have an adoption agency.

6 Billion people in the world, and We can't seem to find a single agency interested in serving our geographical location.
